Recently a lot of the crochet work I have done has been solid single colours and quite dark. Even the Tigers V-stitch blanket was quite dark. So I figured I needed some much brighter colours in my life for a change.
I have started working on a toddler blanket that is very colourful based on the children’s character Elmer the Elephant, as my daughter has had all the books out and reading them to me now that she is able to read by herself.
I saw something similar last year created by Heather at The Patchwork Heart.
Taking inspiration from both sources I have used stylecraft special DK in Lipstick, Saffron, Aster, Black, White, Green, Fondant, Spice and Violet.
I have used a basic granny square and the join as you go method for attaching them all together. I am not sure on the final size yet or how the border will look, but I am thinking I will go with a square blanket rather than a rectangle.
I will post updates as I work through and a final tad-ah picture too.
